Free to enter, it has quickly become a haven for readers, couples and design lovers seeking quiet hours over a coffee and the port view.

The only highland lake in Keelung, Lovers Lake sits on the flank of Mount Dawulun, formed by six mountain streams that converge in a couple-embracing silhouette. Loop trails around the lake and ridge are gentle enough for families and couples, weaving past lake views, sea horizons and forest birdsong. The free park adds a lovers' suspension bridge, observation decks, a windmill and a chess-castle playground, with free parking included.

Stretching four kilometers along the Nuannuan Stream, this linear water park revolves around three free splash zones: a rainbow pool, an elephant slide, and a fountain-dance area. During the summer water season, sprinklers run Tuesday through Thursday and Saturday at 9:30-11:00 a.m. and 4:00-5:30 p.m., with Mondays and Fridays reserved for cleaning. The park doubles as an ecological habitat, with paths tracing the stream toward Nuandong Canyon views.

Wangyou Valley stitches a coastal V-valley together with Pacific horizons in a single trail. The grade is gentle enough for all ages, and clear days unlock long views toward Keelung Islet, the fishing harbor and the Northeast Coast line. Just a 15-minute walk from the trailhead, it is a handy half-day escape from Taipei and New Taipei City, popular for sea-and-mountain photography.

Spanning roughly 170 meters at Badouzi, the Wanghaixiang Bridge pairs a cycling lane with a walking deck and delivers a 360-degree sky-meets-sea viewing platform. From here visitors frame Keelung Islet, the Marine Science Museum and Chaojing Park in one panorama. With free curbside parking, the bridge has become a must-stop on Keelung one-day itineraries.
