Ba-Ba (Eight-Eight) Tunnel, located in Fuxing Village, Nangan Township, Lienchiang County, was originally a military standby tunnel completed on President Chiang Kai-shek's 88th birthday, hence its name. Thanks to its naturally constant temperature and humidity, the Matsu Distillery later converted it into a cellar for aging kaoliang liquor and old wine, making it a distinctive attraction that fuses battlefield history with liquor culture. The tunnel runs approximately 273 meters through granite, with neatly arranged vats exuding a rich aroma. It is cool in summer and warm in winter, ideal for escaping the heat and soaking up history. Visits require advance booking with the distillery; admission is free, and visitors should follow staff instructions.

It runs approximately 640-700 meters, with the waterway 18 meters high and 10 meters wide, designed in a tic-tac-toe grid pattern and excavated entirely by soldiers' manual labor. Now open to tourists, visitors can walk along the interior path, admire the chisel marks on the rock walls and the clear water, and take a traditional rowboat or kayak for on-water sightseeing. Because the tunnel connects directly to the sea, entry is only possible at low tide; at high tide the entire passage is submerged. The site is also a popular nighttime spot for viewing Nangan's blue tears, blending historical education with natural wonder, making it a must-visit for families, history buffs, and nature lovers.
