Jiuru Holistic Care Park

Jiou Ru Holistic Care Park in Jiou Ru Township, Pingtung County is a cross generational public space reborn from a century old school campus. The site unfolds across three floors: a day care center for seniors on the first level, a Lo Has fitness center with professional classes and equipment on the second, and a family co presence base on the third designed for children aged zero to six, complete with sand pits, ball pools, slides, trampolines, and a reading room with over three thousand picture books. Outdoors, an all age inclusive playground features imported play structures and fitness equipment for the whole family. Admission is free and no reservation is required, making this a rare all generation leisure destination welcoming to parents, children, seniors, and pets alike.

Victory Star Village

Sheng Li Hsing Tsun Creative Life Park at No. 69, Sheng Li Road in Pingtung City is a cultural and creative quarter converted from Japanese era officer housing and postwar military dependents village homes. The site preserves intact Japanese wooden architecture and red brick walls, layered with art installations, cafes, indie boutiques, and pet friendly spaces. Flat walkways and a relaxed pace make it easy to explore with small children or dogs. While most of the site is free to enter, select programs carry a small fee, so the park is well suited to travelers who enjoy history, creative culture, and unhurried strolls.

National Museum of Marine Biology & Aquarium

The National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium in Checheng Township, Pingtung County is the largest and most complete marine themed museum in Taiwan. Its halls include Waters of Taiwan, Coral Kingdom, World Waters, and the temporarily closed Whale Pavilion, together housing tens of thousands of marine creatures. Beyond the permanent exhibits, the museum offers signature experiences such as overnight stays and penguin feeding, making it an outstanding summer escape and a hub for marine education. Tickets are NT$450 for adults, NT$250 for discount tickets, and NT$225 for concession tickets. Children under six and visitors with a disability ID enter free of charge.

Pingtung County Park

Pingtung County Min Park on the southern edge of Pingtung City was built on the grounds of a former sugar mill and pulp plant and now covers roughly twenty hectares as a flagship inclusive park. Waterfront promenades and wide lawns anchor the layout, joined by a rich variety of play equipment that welcomes children and dogs. After a 2023 upgrade, highlights include a seven meter tall onion shaped slide, nine swings in a row, hillside zip lines, and a splash friendly water plaza, plus a teen challenge zone with wood stumps, climbing nets, and balance beams that expand the play options to more than seventy variations. Free inflatables, an ice palace with paid entry, a small train, and a carousel round out the experience, and rest areas with food and drink make it easy to spend half a day or a full day. Admission is free, parking is relatively easy, and the walking trails and wetland scenery make it great for photos and strolls. It is the largest inclusive family friendly summer escape in the greater Pingtung area.

Ping Yan 1936 Cultural Base, formerly the Pingtung Tobacco Factory, has been reborn as a cultural creative campus blending museum and art gallery functions. The spacious grounds preserve the historic factory buildings, and visitors can explore the story of Taiwan's tobacco leaf processing and the Liou Dui Hakka culture through sound and light shows, interactive exhibitions, and hands on family zones.
