Shitoushan Quanhua Hall is located at No. 242, 17th Neighborhood, Shishan Village, Nanjhuang Township, Miaoli County, situated halfway up the mountain in the Shitoushan Scenic Area. It is a Buddhist temple with over a century of history. The temple is embedded into a natural rock cavity in the mountain, with architecture that blends seamlessly with the natural landscape. The trail is gentle, allowing visitors to enjoy magnificent mountain views and quaint temple structures along the way - ideal for whole-family or parent-child excursions. The grounds provide free parking, vegetarian meals, drinking water, and clean restrooms, so visitors can worship and rest at ease after hiking. The site also preserves historical relics such as Japanese-era stone lanterns and a Taisho 9th year (1920) old bridge, blending cultural, natural, and spiritual experiences. It is a must-visit free attraction in Miaoli Nanjhuang.

Baishatun Mazu Temple (Gongtian Temple) is located in Tongxiao Township, Miaoli County, one of the largest Mazu temples in the area and a free-admission religious attraction. The temple is about a 12-minute walk from Baishatun Train Station, with two free parking lots and pilgrim dormitories, restrooms, and other convenient facilities. The annual Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage attracts large numbers of devotees and tourists. Food stalls and agricultural product vendors line the temple, letting worshippers sample local delicacies. This is not only a religious center but also a great place to understand Miaoli Hakka culture and local customs.

Kedong 2nd Road Underpass Space, officially named Toufen Balance Bike Park, is located under the overpass on Kedong 2nd Road, Toufen City, Miaoli County. Built using the bridge's underpass space, it creates an all-age-friendly venue for balance bikes and bicycles, equipped with traffic signals, traffic lights, railway crossings, and other facilities that let children learn traffic rules in a safe environment. The park features diverse play equipment including climbing frames, slides, spinning discs, fitness facilities, and painted ground maps, with restrooms and parking spaces for parental convenience. Since reopening in August 2024, new features such as S-shaped and circular racing tracks and a rocket-shaped slide have been added, making it a popular Miaoli family-trip destination. Nearby Toufen Music Park and Sports Park can be combined for a full day of family fun.

Zhunan Shishan Family Park is located at No. 39-45, Zhenru Road, Zhunan Township, Miaoli County, a free family park. The grounds feature a Huoyanshan-shaped seven-color slide as the main visual highlight, combined with a large sand pit, mushroom house, nest swing, spinning disc, climbing wall, and splash pool, giving children plenty of space to run, splash, and explore. The park has family restrooms and a large free parking lot with convenient transportation, suitable for family day trips or school outdoor education.

Zhunan Toufen Sports Park is located at the intersection of Heping Road and Fuguo Street in Toufen City, Miaoli County, a free family-friendly sports park. The grounds are spacious, equipped with roller and terrazzo slides, shaded sand pits, swings, climbing frames, and other play facilities, plus a sports zone and water walking trail. Each summer (through August 31), free water-splashing spray equipment operates from 3-7 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, offering a refreshing way to beat the heat. The park is open year-round from 08:00 to 20:00, with natural tree shade, suitable for outdoor family leisure and parent-child activities.

Wanli Family Park is located in Yuanli Township, Miaoli County, adjacent to National Yuanli Senior High School, and is Miaoli's third large-scale signature family park. The grounds are themed around local agriculture, featuring farm-house chimney slides, sky tunnels, tree-house play areas, bamboo-hat climbing nets, vole big adventure, sand play area, and other diverse play equipment. Free parking and family restrooms are provided. The facilities are suitable for children of all ages, ideal for whole-family outdoor fun and leisure.
