Chiayi Park at No. 326 Chui-yang Road, Chiayi East District, is a downtown park themed on family-friendliness. Chiayi Municipal Art Museum (Chi-mei-guan) near Chiayi Station was originally the 1936 Tobacco and Alcohol Monopoly Bureau Chiayi Branch, a Japanese-era heritage site. Inside, classical brickwork blends with modern glass curtain walls in a spacious, bright space featuring a children's art education area, a free kids' playroom with books and toys, plus an Eslite bookstore, cafe, and creative-goods shop. Exhibitions span landscapes, ko-chih-tzu pottery, and more, with free guided tours and family activities - a cultural leisure spot loved by literary types, families, and pet owners alike.

Chiayi Zhu-ci Qingshui Park in Chiayi spans about 12 hectares and is a free family park. The grounds feature a children's wading pool, sky corridor, flower-fairy trail, two landscape suspension bridges, a garden, and observation decks, with shaded rest areas, free parking, restrooms, and showers. Suited to full-day family leisure and picnics.

Wei-shi-deng Water World in Chiayi's West District is the city's largest indoor-outdoor water park, suited to family play. The grounds offer a spacious indoor heated pool with 25-to-50-meter lanes and multiple thrilling water slides - including a 360-degree high-altitude slide, rainbow slide, and family slide - with outdoor slides open June to October each year.
