Fen-niu Paradise (formerly Lu-ying Ranch) in Zhong-pu Township, Chiayi County, is a farm-experience-themed family park. The spacious grounds feature a lawn, grass-sled slope, a two-story slide, craft workshop, and multiple animal zones (cows, ducks, rabbits, cats). Guided tours let visitors feed small animals, pick seasonal fruits, or join DIY produce-processing so kids learn farming and ecology hands-on. The park also has an observation restaurant, goose-racing, boat rides, and snack stalls selling house-made milk, yogurt, and steamed buns. Great for whole-family fun, especially school and family groups; allow about 2-3 hours.

Er-jian-shan Trail near Long-xing Temple in Mei-shan Township, Chiayi County, is an easy wooden-deck route of about 380 meters. Winding between tea gardens and ridges, both sides overlook mountains and seas of clouds, with temperatures 7-9 C lower than the lowlands in spring and summer - a great summer escape. Mostly stairs, the trail reaches the summit leisure tea garden in about 5-8 minutes, suited to families, elders, and visitors wanting a quick taste of high-mountain tea scenery. Limited free parking at the trailhead (paid on holidays). Best in the morning before clouds dissipate; sample local tea snacks nearby.
